I can think of nothing worse! If you are someone who relies upon your daily Java to face your day, then it can be absolutely devastating to wake up to find that your coffee pot has broken. Here is a scenario: if you are someone who sets the timer on your coffee maker every single morning to brew as you wake up, it may be completely disappointing to get out of the shower to find that there is no cup of Joe waiting for you. Lucky for you, there are some easy methods available that only a Boy Scout would know to quickly brew up some Java to get you through your day.

If your coffee maker breaks, and you don t have time to make a Starbucks run on the way to work, then grab a clean pair of knee high pantyhose, and fill one up with 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds for each cup of coffee that you want to brew. Place the coffee grounds within the knee high pantyhose, and put the pantyhose over a small pot on the stove. Stretch the top of the knee high over the top of the pot, and boil water in the pot for three minutes. This will cause the coffee grounds within the pantyhose to steep for the brew process.

After that, gather up the top part of the knee high pantyhose, and pull it up and out of the pot. Be very careful not to let any coffee grounds spill out of the pantyhose into your coffee product. And there you have it! You can pour yourself a fresh, emergency cup of Joe to quickly make it through your day until you purchase a new and dependable home coffee maker.

One more thing to consider is having backup methods of coffee brewing available for moments when your home coffee maker may go down. One of the easiest ways to make coffee on a daily basis is with the use of a French Press, and it is not an electrical item, so it won t break down on you in the same way as a home coffee maker could. A French Press is incredibly easy to use, and all you need is a kettle on the stove to boil water with. You will place your coarse coffee grounds within the French Press, and you can then add the amount of boiling water that you need. Allow this mixture to steep for four minutes, and then press down the plunger to separate the coffee grounds from the brew product.

A French Press is especially helpful to be used on a daily basis because it will brew in the same amount of time as a regular home coffee machine. This is also something easy to take with you if you are traveling to a hotel or other location because you can always count on a fresh and convenient cup of Joe. The bottom line is that if you are a fan of coffee, it is so important to have backup brew methods available so that you aren t stuck in a bind.
