When choosing a cable provider, there are a number of option and packages to choose from, but how do you choose the right one for you? Movie channels, HD channels, the History channel or all those DYI channels, so much selection. But it always seems that there are only one or two good ones amongst a bunch you'd never watch, causing you to have to subscribe to the largest package to get all the channels you actually do want. Then there are set up costs, cable boxes to buy and of course the inevitable monthly fee. So, as in many things it seems, the internet holds the answers to this predicament.
When looking for cable alternatives there are a few things to consider:
1. Installation - How difficult is it to set up?
- Do I need a technician?
- Do I need additional equipment?
This can be expensive if you need to buy and install satellites and hire technicians to wire your equipment. It can cost well into the hundreds, so be careful to add up these not so obvious costs.
2. Availability - Can I access it anywhere, or am I limited depending on where I live?
Be aware that, especially if you live outside of the United States, a lot of offers are unavailable to you especially internet based services. Make sure you investigate exactly what is available in your country.
3. Content - Will I be gaining or losing channels?
- Will I have to pay extra for movie channels?
Be sure to check exactly how many channels you will be paying for and if movies are included, pay-per-view, or if you must pay extra for certain movie channels.
4. Cost - Are there set up costs?
- Are there monthly fees?
Read carefully, make sure you are aware of any set up and recurring fees.
So, what if you could have hundreds of channels, no additional hardware, and get this - NO MONTHLY FEES!
