Building a connection is crucial and can lead to many great things such as future joint ventures, future joint business opportunities etc. It is also one of the most effective ways to mlm domination because the more relationships you build with people, the higher your chances will be of them liking you, trusting you and then hopefully joining you. You should be giving them value and helping them succeed and never spam their inboxes or social media profiles. They are what I believe to be the two top ways to get lifelong success and be where you want to be. Yes it will take time, effort and commitment but isn't that worth the wait?
