Now that you have your domain set up and your hosting sorted, I will now give you some free tips on writing a blog post. If you do not yet know, I have started a article series where I will tell you everything you need to know about blogging. Right from the start when it comes to creating a domain, up until the point where you are getting traffic and leads. I have already covered the first three articles with one of them talking about SEO and the all in one SEO plugin. This is where we raise the bar a little because you will actually have to start doing things consistently in order to get results. Once you have your domain, hosting and SEO plugin installed, you will begin writing content and posting it to your blog. While we are writing, do keep the SEO side of things in mind because you will want the majority of your blog posts to get a good ranking in the search engines as this is what will bring in the traffic. These tips on writing a blog post that I am about to share with you, can be done by anybody anywhere. It does not matter how much experience you got because you learn as you go along. It is also completely free so you will not have to spend a single penny.
One of my first tips on writing a blog post is related to your content ideas. Let's assume you are an Internet marketer which means you will want to create content around Internet marketing. The first thing to do is use Google's keyword tool to get your creative juices flowing and keywords coming. This is the keyword research stage which is also the most important stage and one of my most important tips on writing a blog post, because if you get this part wrong nothing else will fall into place. You will want to use keywords that are not too generic and are more of a long tail e.g. 'Internet marketing tips for success' instead of just 'Internet marketing'. That will have a lower level of competition which will give you a better chance to rank for it.
Earlier I also said to keep the SEO side of things in mind so I will now give you a few ideas when it comes to writing content which is good for SEO. Using your keywords is also one of my tips on writing a blog post because the more effectively you use your keywords, the easier it will be for you to get some good rankings in the search engines. Include your chosen keyword at the start of the title if you can as these words have more authority in the search engines. Also be sure to include this keyword in the opening sentence if your content, 3-5x throughout the body and in the closing sentence.
Optimizing your links using anchor text is another one of my tips on writing a blog post. You may not see this as such a big thing but linking to other articles on your own blog can also help you in getting ranked and getting some traffic. The linking text you use aka anchor text, should always be your main keyword you are trying to target as this is what you want to get ranked for. The more quality blog posts you write with the right keyword usage, the easier it will be for you to get ranked in the search engines.
