The Raiders started out in 1960 within the AFL which is the American Football league and have received three division titles and a championship. The Oakland Raiders joined the Nationwide Football League in 1970 which was a part of a NFL-AFL merger. Because the Raiders joined the National Soccer League the group won three super bowls and twelve division titles in addition to appearing in two super bowls.
