I love World of Warcraft, I probably love it and play it a little too much, but every day I see people ruining their own and others love of the game.
If you want to hate WoW too, here s 10 things you can do to hate it, and fast.
1. Forget about the story line behind WoW. Just accept quests, search for it online, and then find out where you have to go. Kill the monsters or complete the objectives as fast as humanly possible and move onto the next quest. You don t care about the fully fleshed out and enjoyable fantasy world, anyway.
2. Min/Max each and every thing about your game. Got a holy paladin? Better change to retribution. Got a resto shaman? Better go for enhancement or elemental.
Got 11 points in arms when you could get 2 more dps by changing to fury? You better change... who cares that you love the arms tree?
Or maybe you like the Tuskarr, but the quests net you little experience and won t level you quick. Better quest elsewhere (who cares about that awesome fishing rod you get at exalted).
3. Don t make friends. Everyone that plays WoW is probably some weird and bizarre person who doesn t have a job and lives with their mom and dad.
You re different though, right?
4. Don t join a guild or anything. They re probably even worse than the people from point 3. You wouldn t want to chat with and socialize with people anyway, right? You re better than them.
5. Shout obscenities and degrade people every chance you get.
Its pretty obvious to you that if everyone did things your way, then WoW would actually be enjoyable... especially in PvP. Boy... if those scrubs were as good as you, then you d have won this battleground, right?
The best thing to do is to shout at the top of your lungs about what Nubs and scrubs everyone is but yourself. That ll make you feel better.
6. Use awesome leet speak at every opportunity. Tell people they re fail , or that the group is fail , or that the raid is fail . Quit the group/raid/battleground at the first sign of trouble. People never win unless they do it 100 correctly the first time. That s your motto.
Quit early, quit often, and tell people they fail before you do so that your own ego is kept intact.
7. Nobody really deserves gear as much as you do, and your class is less leet than everyone elses, so make sure you ninja (steal) loot at every chance you get.
You deserve it anyway, and those fail scrubs weren t doing anywhere near the dps you were so its ok.
8. Don t help anyone, and never answer questions you know the answer to. They probably wouldn t help you in return, and besides, they should probably pay you gold for the benefit of your leet info.
The best way to win in WoW is to go it alone and horde your info so as to remain the sole expert.
9. Keep rolling new characters based on the flavor of the month class. Just keep an eye on the forums and trade channel for people whinging about which class is over powered, then roll one.
You ll hate playing classes which don t interest you, but at least you can play a class which will make you feel strong and powerful as you faceroll all those scrubs . That s all that really matters anyway.
10. Just play WoW. Never play other games, never do anything else. Getting best in slot items for every piece of equipment will make you happy. Socializing with real friends and spending time with your other half is nowhere near as important as getting your epic achievement or doing tribute runs in ToGC.
If you think you re maybe playing a little too much WoW, and would like to cut down on your hours, try following a few of these rules, and I m certain you ll hate it before too long.
On the other hand, if you d like to keep enjoying WoW, feel free to immerse yourself in the game, be friendly to others, and just get a good understanding of what it is YOU like about WoW.
