Yesterday I shared some information with you that is crucial when it comes to building a lead capture page. That was part 1 where I mainly discussed the 4 components you need to include if you want a good converting page with the main discussion being the headline or title. In today's article though, I will discuss another two features that you must be aware of when it comes to creating these type of pages. This is very simple stuff guys and because it is simple, do not waste your time trying to complicate it or think of reasons why it is simple because the only person who will suffer from doing that is you. So what are these other 2 components that you must use when building a lead capture page?
Building a lead capture page with a hot offer
Your free offer or bribe as some would call it, is the first component that you should and must include if you want to get good conversions. The better your offer or bribe is and the more beneficial it can be to your prospects, the higher the chances of them leaving their details and entering your list will be. Building a lead capture page with a hot offer is much more likely to convert than having one with no offer or an offer that is of no use or benefit to other people. For those that do not know, having some kind of offer is vital and is seen as the best way to do a deal with someone where you give them the gift, and they give you there name and email address.
Keep in mind that this offer will be the difference between converting your visitors into leads and your prospects into customers. This is not the time to have an offer based around your business because that does not help your visitors in any way. Instead when building a lead capture page and thinking of an offer to include, you should consider giving away anything that is of value and can be a solution to people's problems. For example you could give away a free report, a course, a bootcamp video series, an exclusive interview you did. It really does not matter and it doesn't have to necessarily be your product either. Just make sure that you are thinking of your visitors and offering something that will help and benefit them not you.
Once you have decided what to give away, the next step is to create your offer and opt-in template. Of course without the opt-in template building a lead capture page would not be possible as the whole point is to get the person to opt in with their details. So when you reach this stage, you could say things like 'get free access to an exclusive interview I did on how to get over 20 leads a day by entering your name and email below.' Or you could say something along the lines of 'enter your name and email in the box below to get free access to my 7 day video bootcamp series showing you exactly how I went from $0 to $5,000 in one week.' Try and be specific as possible and tell your visitors exactly what they will get in exchange for their details.
Building a lead capture page and throwing a video in the mix
Including a video is the second component that you can include when building a lead capture page. This isn't a must and something that you need to do, but it could be more effective in getting a higher conversion rate which means more people on your list. Including a video on your lead capture page doesn't even have to take up a lot of your time because it is quick and easy to create and even if you don't have a camera, you can still create one using two programs called Screenflow and Camtasia.
Earlier I said that having a video isn't a must, but can be more effective because by creating videos when building a lead capture page, your visitors will feel more of a connection with you instead of just reading a whole load of text. The more connected they feel, the higher the trust level will be between the two of you and the higher the chances will be of them entering their details. Your video however shouldn't be too long and should be around 60 seconds maximum. The whole point of the video is to sell the opt-in and that is it. Do not talk about your business or drag things on. The best opt-in videos are the ones that are simple, to the point and factual.
In addition to having the right headline which I discussed yesterday, having the right opt-in offer and maybe even a video will greatly boost your chances of turning a visitor into a lead. At the end of the day, you should always be testing out what is working and what isn't. Building a lead capture page with all the right components and constantly testing and tweaking them, will give you the best chance possible of having good conversion rates and building your list or business. :-)
