Initially the Sony NEX-7 release date was scheduled for March 2011, but a string of last minute developments forced Sony to push forward the release date to August 2011 and it will be available for the shipping during the month of November in America and European countries. During the initial Sony NEX-7 release date, there were a handful of very exciting leaks from the Sony department. Seeing as the Sony NEX-7 is so compact in size, all these features packed into the camera is nothing short of amazing.
Unlike it's predecessors the NEX-3 and NEX-5, this model has full 1080p@60 video capture capability. It even has a slow-motion mode, recording at 720p @120/60.
This new model is a stylistic departure from earlier models in the NEX series. Leaks from Sony reveal that the NEX-7 has the appearance of a mirrorless A550, but much smaller and with an E-mount. The upcoming NEX-7 will be a thing of beauty, no need to worry in that department
In body image stabilization and the capability for full manual control are a couple of the features enthusiasts are spending so much time salivating over. When we consider these high level features, it is perfectly understandable why Sony's product engineers had to design the NEX-7 with a larger body than its two predecessors, the NEX-3 and NEX-5.
The NEX line has been very well received by consumers; the only drawback is that many have criticized the NEX-3 and NEX-5 for being too amateurish. Sony seems to have addressed this issue with the new NEX-7. It has all the features you would find in a professional digital camera, but it somehow retains a small body in comparison to those SLR monsters.
