These days, it seems almost every single internet marketing product teaches about how to get traffic. And the truth is, many of these courses are good. They work. But that's the problem. Getting traffic is easy - but traffic does not equal conversions. (As any burned out frustrated marketer will tell you.)
Unfortunately, most people seem to think that if they can just get enough visitors to their websites, they'll make money, when in actual fact, the exact opposite is true. The fact is, it doesn't matter whether you get hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of visitors a month. Unless you can convert your traffic into sales, or paying customers, you'll never make any money online.
So with that in mind, how do you make sure your traffic converts??
Well, first of all, you need to make sure that the traffic you're getting to your sites is quality, targeted traffic, that has an active interest in buying the products you're promoting. If that sounds like obvious advice, it is, but it's also the main reason most sites don't convert.
So if you're not getting quality, targeted traffic, that's actively interested in purchasing your products, and that's proven to be responsive, you should stop what you're doing right now. There's plenty of courses out there that teach how to get the right kind of traffic. Until you figure that part out, you are literally wasting your time.
Next, once you have quality traffic coming to your site, the single best method you can possibly use to increase conversion rates is to make a killer freebie offer in exchange for your visitors' email address. Give your visitors something they really want, that solves part of their problem, or at least helps them along the path to solving their problem. If what you're offering is truly decent, and helps people out, they will have no choice but to trust and thank you. And in return, you'll be building a targeted, quality list.
This is crucial for conversions. In my opinion, you should never try to sell cold traffic on your products. You should give them something of value first, in exchange for their trust and email address. Then, if you continue to give away more information that helps them out, you'll continue to build trust, and you'll find it a lot easier to get those people to buy something.
And that's it. Despite what anyone else tells you, that's the key to conversions. Don't try to sell people something until they trust you. It really is as simple as that.?
