Finding backlinks should be one of the top things on your to do list if you are a content marketer. This includes, if you have a blog that you regularly add content to it which you should be doing if you are a content marketer anyway, or using article marketing. Either way getting the backlinks to your blog or website is one of the most important things for us. In this article, I will not get into the background of backlinks and what they are. What I will share with you though is a very stupidly simple 3 step process to finding backlinks that you can get for your piece of online real estate. Believe me guys these steps are so simple that literally anybody who knows how to turn on a computer can do them.
Finding backlinks using other blogs
Finding backlinks using other peoples blogs is the first step in this process. The idea here is to search for other blogs on the Internet that are similar to yours in terms of content and subject matter. By finding these blogs it will make it so easy for you to leave comments because there will be such a wide range of blogs that will come up. To search for these all you have to do is go to Google and in the search box type in the following:
Site: .com inurl:blog + "post a comment" + business
Or you could type in
Site: .com inurl:blog + "post a comment" + marketing
By doing this Google will search for pages and blogs where you can post a comment and get a backlink to your domain. You can also end up finding backlinks by taking it a level further and searching for different website extensions such as .biz, .org and .net instead of just .com. Another thing you could do is search for something else such as "mlm" to get both a wider range of blogs, but also more specific ones.
Adding blog comments
You most probably guessed it while reading the above that finding backlinks while adding comments to other people's blogs is the second step in this process. Again very easy to do and takes no more than just a few minutes. The main thing at this point is not to drop a one line comment saying 'good stuff thanks' or 'I found this helpful thanks'. Leaving these type of comments offer nothing constructive or helpful and will most likely end up not getting approved by the blog owner. So when it comes to comments or feedback either good or bad, make them constructive and relevant to the information you finished reading.
Also when it comes to finding backlinks and leaving your website link in order to actually get the backlink, make it relevant. For example if you read information on how to get mlm leads and you have similar content on your blog, in the website box where you can add your link, make sure you add the link which leads to the mlm leads content. The more specific and targeted your link is to the content you comment on, the better it will be for you and your blog.
Get some authority under your belt
This is the third and final step in this process when it comes to finding backlinks. Adding your blog links and getting a backlink from authoritative sites is one of the most powerful and effective steps you can take with your blog. This is because Google loves authority sites with the .edu or the .gov domain extensions. To search for these type of sites type in the following into the search box:
Site: .edu inurl:blog + "post a comment" + business
You can also do the exact same but replace the .edu with .gov to get more authority sites.
There you have it guys. That is the 3 step process you can use to start getting some quality backlinks to your site. As you can see, all 3 of these steps are indeed stupidly simple and anybody can do them, even if you are a complete beginner in the industry. Getting backlinks by far is the most important factor if you want search engine rankings and high traffic numbers.
