One of the most difficult tasks for anyone is to lose weight. One of the more popular attempts by some people is to participate in a calorie controlled diet. They might even try the latest "fad' weight loss products, pills, shakes or meal replacement plans in an effort to shed those extra pounds. To lose weight, everyone needs to have a cardiovascular program incorporated into whatever dietary or weight loss program they happen to be participating in. To sustain long-term weight loss, it has been shown conclusively that even the smallest fitness program can sustain weight loss over time.

When you first begin doing a little cardiovascular exercise, you might notice you feel a little out of breath. The reason for this happening is your respiratory system is not accustomed to the extra oxygen needed for your muscles doing exercise. However the more exercise you do the easier it gets. Just as an example when going for a walk for the first time you'll probably go red in the face and get out of breath. This is your body's way of trying to get more oxygen into your lungs to circulate around your system. When you keep doing exercise regularly you'll quickly notice that you're not gasping for air as much. This means you're improving your respiratory function, which has the added side effect of making you feel more energized.

People have generally observed that by doing more cardiovascular exercise you are cutting down the amount of fat you store in your body. More physical activity means you need more fuel for your body. With an increase in exercise also comes an increase in the need to use more energy. Fat stores are sometimes used as extra energy for your body. You can therefore lose fat by doing just a few extra things like walking up the stairs or parking your car at the end of the car park so you have to walk further.

Sadly a large number of people feel ashamed of taking a stroll around the block. They worry that people will stare at them or laugh at them, so they tend not to go out at all. If you're not wanting to exercise alone you should just ask a good friend to walk with you. You're improving your level of fitness as well as spending quality time with your friend so it's a good idea. You will feel a lot more motivated to continue exercising when going with a friend. There are many positive effects besides weight loss due to improving your cardiovascular fitness level. Your health and happiness are both positively affected by exercise. You can drastically reduce the risk of getting heart disease, type 2 diabetes and even cancer by simply maintaining a good level of fitness. Your body will be provided with more energy when you do more physical activities. For those wanting to lose weight and also feel good each morning this is wonderful news.
