Acura NSX, You will not like this answer but get him just an everyday car nothing special so he learns to appreciate a vehicle. I dropped a 305 small block v8 8.1L with 355 HP and I can smoke any mustang. My Sunbird which came with a 3.1L v6 around 150 HP was only 2500$. I know of many mustanges that are easily beat. If you want a nice car, and nice looks go with a toyota celica, or misubishi 3000gt/eclipse.

I have a mini and I love it. It handles great and it's fun to drive. I rather you choose the toyota, because is faster an it has a pretty good size, and the mini is too exaggerated in its size, is too small. It's really well made too--none of the cheap plastic on the control panel that most cars have. The inside is surprisingly roomy, but there isn't much storage space. That would be the only downside.
