When any website is developed with the help of Photoshop, there are problems especially relating to the colors that are generated through the coding languages used such as CSS and HTML.

We want the colors exhibited in the different devices or media to be same. If the image is captured through the digital camera or the scanning device and then printed on the paper we want all the colors exhibited to be the same. Usually because of the technical differences especially the difference between the RGB and CMYK basis the output is not the same. The aim of the designer in those circumstances is to make the output look the same and exhibition of the same color.

The designer should remember that the final source of the images on the monitor or screen of the visitor varies. The images can be in different formats like JPEG, GIF and PNG. The style markup can be CSS and the code used for web design can also vary. It can be HTML, JavaScript or even Objective-C. The Mac OS X and Windows vary with reference to Gamma too. Crossing the hurdles created by these differences is not so easy.

If you are working with RGB images and the default settings in Photoshop are on, the Photoshop applies its color management to the images. As a consequence of this the color value or code of the color changes when it is being displayed on the monitor.

In OS X and Windows the color value does not change hence the color saved is the color exhibited. If you want the design made in Photoshop to exhibit the same color that you saved, you need to disable the color management applied by the Photoshop. This will force the Photoshop to keep the color value the same when the color is saved and when it is displayed on the monitor. For this the designer needs to learn and master the skill to disable the color management in the Photoshop.

When working with the Photoshop the designer can use the "Assign Profile" or the "Convert To Profile". Both commands can be used for changing the profile of the document but there is a big difference. When you use "Assign Profile" the data pertaining to color does not change but when you use "Convert To Profile" there are permanent changes in the color data. So one needs to be very careful when using the "Convert To Profile".

You need to follow some specific steps if you want to transfer an image from the Illustrator to Photoshop and want the color value to remain the same.

The calibration and screens of the iPhone and the desktop personal computers vary. This is why one should export the user interface images from the source to the iPhoto and conduct a test for change in color.
