Unibind binding machines are well known for being easy to use in addition to providing some of the best looking binding you could ever see. The Unibind lineup has several different machines that can bind anywhere from one to 48 documents at once, so they are great for both large and small jobs. However, if you need a higher capacity binding machine, the Unibind ST1025 is a machine that warrants a look. This review will fill you in on all you need to know about the Unibind ST1025.

The Unibind ST1025 is a highly advanced binding machine that is the star of the Unibind lineup. This machine can bind up to 50 documents at once, thanks to its 10 binding elements. (There are also nine cooling racks.) Each binding element is 25 millimeters wide and can hold five documents, and they are all separate elements. That means is that each element operates on its own, so you have the ability to bind your documents as fast as you can prepare them. The ST1025 can bind a document in about thirty seconds and it flashes an LED light to let you know when it s done. So not only can the machine help you increase your productivity, it s very user friendly as well. You can use any of Unibind s binding supplies with the ST1025, from Steelback spines to SteelMatte covers, so you really have a lot of different options.

The ST1025 is about 3.5 feet tall, so you can easily use it as a work surface as you prepare your documents for binding. (The work area is to the left of the binding elements.) The unit comes with casters so you will have no trouble transporting the machine when you need to move it to a new location or just need to get it out of the way for a bit. Also, the ST1025 has eight built in drawers in which you can store up to 2400 covers/spines. Not only does this mean your supplies will always be at hand, but you will save space in your workplace because you won t need to find a place to store your binding covers.

Overall, the ST1025 is a top notch machine, but it does have a couple of drawbacks. The first of these is the weight of the unit. The ST1025 weighs over 200 pounds and that is without any covers in the drawers. The machine is big and rather bulky, so it s nearly impossible to pick the machine up and transport it up and down stairs. Granted, the casters make it a little bit easier to move the machine around, but using an elevator or such is recommended when moving the machine from floor to floor.

Also, you should know that when you use Unibind machines and supplies, you will be somewhat limited in the size of documents you can bind. The thickest Unibind spines are 36 millimeters wide (about 1.5 inches.) These spines can bind documents that are up to 340 pages long, but if you will be working with lengthier documents, you should choose a different method of binding. Also, you can only bind documents that are up to 12 inches long and since Unibind spines contain steel, it is nearly impossible to trim them down. Keep that in mind when purchasing your new machine.

Despite the shortcomings of the Unibind ST1025 and Unibind binding in general, this really is a great machine that is ideal for businesses that need a machine capable of binding large numbers of documents in a short period of time. The ST1025 is one of the fastest binding machines available, so if you need a speedy machine, this product is a great choice.
