The most important foundation in singing is the skill of proper breathing techniques. You need it in improving your singing ability and you have to master it before you can advance beyond the beginner levels. In producing high quality sound of pitch, steady and strong you have to maintain and practice deep breathing exercise which the most part in learning singing. This will be able to develop your talent as to be an excellent singer. In addition, here are some tips on how to practice deep breathing exercise techniques in improving your vocal abilities.

1.You should breathe from your diaphragm.

Breathing through diaphragm is the most basic part in learning singing. You should know this and practice it by heart. Diaphragm breathing is also called an abdominal breathing and the most important in breathing. It is large muscle located between the chest and the abdomen. When it contracts it is forced downward causing the abdomen to expand. By expanding the lung s air pockets it will improve blood flow in the body. To do the diaphragm breathing here are some techniques to follow. Place one hand on your chest and the other on your abdomen. When you take a deep breath in, the hand on the abdomen should rise higher than the one on the chest. This insures that the diaphragm is pulling air into the bases of the lungs. After exhaling through the mouth, take a slow deep breath in through your nose imagining that you are sucking in all the air in the room and hold it for a count of 7 (or as long as you are able, not exceeding 7) Slowly exhale through your mouth for a count of 8. As all the air is released with relaxation, gently contract your abdominal muscles to completely evacuate the remaining air from the lungs. It is important to remember that we deepen respirations not by inhaling more air but through completely exhaling it.

2.Maintain a good posture in standing.

You should also consider how you stand properly affects your breathing. The right way in standing is through stand up properly with your feet about shoulder width apart or a little less with your arms clasped before you or by your sides and slightly raised. Make sure your chin is tilted up a little so you do not stifle in breathing as well. Then, during standing you should be relax in which the body must be held upright and supported only by the feet.

3.Open up Your Mouth and Throat

When you sing you should open up your mouth as widely as you can. There are some singers do not open their mouth during singing. This will be able to stop while performing in your singing. Since, the lip in the mouth is very flexible it will help your mouth to open up widely and it will use it in your singing as well as in breathing. You should not overly use it because it might give you very straining. Then, you also open your mouth at the back of the throat to let the air in and out liberally. Be careful not to close it up you will be able to choke the notes and restrict your breathing.
