If you are a millionaire and are looking to spend it on something that is the most beautiful creation on earth then the Ferrari Enzo is a must buy. Ok, so even for a used 2004 Enzo the cheapest you can purchase this car for is an eye watering £750,000. Any supercar probably isn’t the most practical car in the world, for example you’d be struggling to drive the car in most European city centres. Jeremy Clarkson and the Top Gear team demonstrated this a few years again with Lamborghini, Porsche and Ferrari in Paris. Either the cars were designed too low to drive over speed bumps or the Ferrari in particular was too wide to go through some streets.

The Ferrari Enzo V12 engine was named after the founder of Ferrari hence why in some circles the supercar is named Enzo Ferrari. Formula One technology was behind the design of the Enzo which was launched in 2002. This is definitely apparent with the Enzo managing to achieve 0 60 mpg in just 3.3 seconds, 650bph and has a top speed of 220 mpg. The F1 technology certainly helped with this due to materials such as carbon fibre being used for the chassis and interior in addition to other high tech stuff.

The Enzo looks as if it has been designed by an artist rather than an engineer. The supercar is elegantly compact with the most beautiful lines running throughout the exterior particularly the unique design of the front bonnet. The ceramic gear stick compliments the interior magnificently and to be honest is probably worth a few thousand pounds on its own. The wheelbase stands at 104.3 inches, the length of the Enzo is 185.1 inches, width is 80.1 inches, height is 45.2 inches and the weight is only 3020 lbs. The ceramic discs and other lightweight material keep the weight of the car low.

When the Enzo was released it was given exceptional reviews. Several car magazines have named this supercar one of the best cars in the world and throughout the last decade. However there are rivals to compete with this mega supercar such as Pagini Zonda C12S, Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari 360 all of which are cheaper than the Ferrari Enzo. All of which are exceptional cars but it really depends on what you are purchasing the car for. Ultimately the reason is power, speed, luxury and excellent overall driving performance. Obviously the image of the supercar is important particularly when you are shelling out in some cases the same amount of money some people use to buy a house.

Overall the Enzo can be compared to a bottle of refined Chianti. It lets off a feisty personality and at first it is a menace to drive but as you get used to this wonderfully orchestrated car, although it gives you a thrill every time you drive it, it eventually turns into a smooth car to drive. Give it a chance and this car will be the most rewarding drive of your life.
