Dalhousie is one of those regions you head to, to escape from the chaos and the stresses of city life. The region offers the perfect habitat of peace and tranquility, wherein one can relax and rejuvenate, doing nothing at all but, adorning the beauty of nature and indulging in simple pleasures of life. Offering such a wonderful escape, this hill resort sits in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh luring in tourists with its serene surrounding and the old world charm it still manages to hold onto.

This popular little hill resort has a charming history to it. Dalhousie was found by Lord Dalhousie the Governor General of India in the year 1854 as a summer resort for the British troops, influences of the bygone eras is still reflected among the old buildings of the region built in the typical colonial architecture. Nestled high at an altitude of 6400 ft, Dalhousie is surrounded by five hills namely, Kathlog, Tehra, Bakrota, Patreyn and Balun, which offer the perfect background to the region and is perfectly complimented by the Pine, Oak and Deodar trees, flowering Rhododendron, lazy river and the lush greenery.

For recreation, there are quite a few points of interests in Dalhousie like, the Khajjiar, Dainkund Walk, Alah Water Tank, Upper Bakrota, ganji pahadi walk, Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary, Chamba and the various Churches and Temples among others. Along with sightseeing tourists can also explore the local markets, enjoy the local food or just enjoy hot drink adorning the beauty of the region from the balcony of your hotel room.

There are numerous great hotels in Dalhousie offering warm and comfortable lodging facilities catering to the accommodation needs of the many travelers visiting the region. Getting to Dalhousie is also pretty easy and can be accessed from various regions of India quite comfortably. The nearest airport from the hill resort is the Pathankot airport, located approx. 75 km away, while the nearest railway station is also in Pathankot. Numerous state and private buses can easily available from various parts of the state and neighboring areas for Dalhousie. The best route to follow to reach Dalhousie is to get off at the Amritsar Airport and from there board a bus or rent a car to Dalhousie, which would take approx. 5 hrs to reach Dalhousie.

1. Churches
The hill station is famous for its churches. There are number of churches in the city. The churches are decorated all the time the beauty of the churches is admirable in the night.

2. Barapathar
It is beautiful temple in the middle of forest. This temple has its own significance. The temple is also known for its decoration. There is also another temple situated called Bhuvani Mata temple.

3. Sadar bazaar
Sadar bazaar is one of the biggest markets in the hill station. There are many specialized items available in this market. Hands made product are also available in sadar bazaar.
