The seed for Catering from Soup to Nuts, Inc. was sown in 1981 when Ralph Giles cooked at dwelling as a hobby. He was chief cook for his family, and it was right here that he found his love of cooking. Ralph's sister ran an extremely effective small business in which he assisted, and one afternoon a client who ran a high-end catering organization arrived, visibly upset. She confided that a single of her butlers for her catering enterprise had canceled on an extremely crucial private catered party for that evening - could he aid by showing up in black pants, white shirt and tie? Thus, Ralph's 'in-home catering and butler service' started and flourished as he catered to quite a few with the prestigious households of Boston and environs. Moreover to private catering customers, Ralph also catered for the British Consulate and visiting dignitaries, also as catered events as diverse as the Boston Marathon to catered cruises to catering at Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket and at concert venues. Ralph Giles was active in the Boston community, supporting the Fenway Community Well being Center, the AIDS Action Committee, Goodwill along with the Pine Street Inn. Ralph moved to Maui in 2001, and worked as Executive Chef to get a Maui catering company known as An Absolute Affair, and captured the award for Ideal Appetizer at Taste of Maui the same year. In 2004, Ralph started Catering from Soup to Nuts as a sole proprietorship, and as the entity's sole employee. Catering from Soup to Nuts incorporated in 2006, and hired both a catering occasion coordinator and a catering sous chef to support increasing catering business. Daniel Southmayd, Ralph Giles' partner of 20 years, became co-owner of Catering from Soup to Nuts, Inc. in 2008.
In 2010, Ralph and Daniel expanded their Maui catering small business, Catering From Soup to Nuts, by opening Vineyard Food Corporation, a storefront in Wailuku, Hawaii exactly where they're open for lunch & drop-off service.
