The city of Steamboat Springs, Colorado is a beautiful ski town located in the upper valley of the Yampa River right along U.S. Highway 40. The town lays a bit west of the Continental Divide near Rabbit Ears Pass and is extremely popular with local skiers, winter sport enthusiasts, and tourists. Steamboat Springs Resort sits on Mount Werner and is the main attraction during the winter months. There is also the much smaller Howelsen Ski Area which usually sees more locals, as it is not as well known. The city also has wonderful school district which operates two elementary, one middle, and one high school within Steamboat Springs.
