When I first saw the phrase, blister packaging I didn't know what it was. I thought it was having blisters on your feet or hands and that the packaging was the band aid for it. I was wrong and I didn't realize that I probably use or see blister packaging daily. You know when you are sick and you take medicine? The pills are in this blister packaging. That is in form fill seal packaging. They also come in unit dose packaging so you know how much of the product you need to take whether it be one dose or two.

The blister packaging can be a card that has a pocket per say on the front that holds the product and on the back it is usually paper board, plastic, or aluminum foil. Something that is easy for you to open up the package to get the product out. Obviously this packaging is used a lot for pharmaceutical purposes. The reason they make the blister packaging is so that it lengthens the quality of the shelf life of the product and also so people can't tamper with the packaging. When buying anything that comes in a blister card, or blister packs you want to make sure that it hasn't been tampered with and if it has more than likely you will put that product down and pick up a different one for health purposes. If the blister pack is popped you would worry that something has or could get in the product that could be harmful to us. Also these days you can never be to careful because so many people are tampering with packaging and products to hurt people. Always make sure there is a form fill seal to any packaging you buy. Even with other packaging like boxes and food if it's been opened or tampered with I do not buy it. Just because I never know what could have been done to the product.

Did you also know that blister packaging is in many more other consumers product? Such as toys, makeup, accessories, and hardware products. You name it and most of the packaging is probably blister packaging. I had no idea that was the phrase of what that packaging was. When you go to the store I bet you had no idea that a majority of what you are shopping for come in a packs or packaging with the card on the back. The reason so many products are sold through blister packaging is that the consumer can see the product through the plastic. I know that I like to visualize the product of what I'm about to buy before taking it home. The product is usually placed between the paperboard card and clear plastic also called as pvc.

A clamshell is the hardest of all the packaging to open. They make it this way so that it impossible to tamper with this packaging and the product inside. Many times the only way to free the product from the packaging or card is to get a knife or scissors. It is also good for certain things to have a clamshell so that they are child resistant. There are certain things you do not want your kids getting into.

I hope this has help give you the knowledge of what blister packaging is and how important it is for our day and age.
