I've read many different posts on the matter of Twitter automation.
Some people are all for it, while some are completely against it.
Generally, I am all for any doohickey which will save me time throughout the day.
I am absolutely opposed to anybody at all who utilizes these same tools to spam the massess though.
My ultimate pet peeve relative to Twitter is the amount of artificial people one gets on any given account.

The biggest error I see masses making every day on twitter is leading with their product. They will "mention" someone and attach a link. Without first building a relationship with them, there is a thin chance that they will ever go to that link. Usually a simple "hello how are you" type dialogue is enough to at least get the exchange going if you are not willing to put in the effort. Those who do put in the effort will repeatedly discover bigger conversions. It's called social media for a reason. It's meant to be social.
It's uncomplicated to sit behind a pc for hours per day and not speak to people. But if you're not engaging, chances are that you are not selling to your full potential, if at all. And really if you're going to be using a computer for hours at a time, wouldn't it be more fun to connect with folks anyway? Not a soul likes to be talked at, but we all require to feel connected with something or whoever.
