Most of us start out thinking sales and marketing are the same thing, but they are two completely different terms. With that being said, sales and marketing go hand in hand, you can't make a sale without having someone to sell to.
Marketing:
Marketing is a planed strategy that combines all aspects of market research and advertising, plainly said it's getting the word out about you, your company and your products or services. It's about your brand and what your brand has to offer.
Sales:
Sales is all about getting the customers to purchase the goods and or services your offering, after your marketing efforts brought them to your website or store. Being able to close a sale, is to me one of the most important aspect of the sales and marketing proccess.
The difference between sales and marketing is, marketing brings you customers and sales is the act of actually selling the customer your product and or service. If your getting traffic to your site but your not making sales, then you could have a sales page problem, or you could be getting the wrong none targeted traffic.
When marketing a product or service it is important to know the difference between sales and marketing because if your marketing doesn't jive with your sales presentation, then your not making sales. They shouldn't be misleading or not relevant from one to the other.
It is important to note that you should be good at both, sales and marketing if you want to make money in your business. If you are good at one then you could always outsource the other.
There are many parts to sales and marketing, and being good at both of them can make you very wealthy. If your in the process of learning sales and marketing, I would suggest you learn from those who are successful, and I would recommend My Leads system Pro, they have the best training and tools available online, hands down.
