Of all the many stainless steel products available in the market nowadays, the stainless steel tube is probably the most resistant to corrosion and a lot more other chemical process, even certain sterilization procedures. They come in several different forms and can be fabricated easily into other forms of steel, like a steel round, steel square or a rectangle, and can undergo different drawing processes in the hot and cold conditions.

It is quite durable and very esthetically pleasing and is, therefore, preferred by many building firms and is very versatile enough to be transformed in several different forms.

A steel tube can also have several types of finish and it can be as raw as you want it or as refined if you would prefer for it to be really smooth. You probably have seen a stainless steel tube before. Well, they all went through a very specific type of process in order to look the way it does and to be able possess the strength it does. Similarly, to make a stainless steel to appear, mirror like, it will have to have gone through a specific procedure to be able to look that way, the process is quite complicated and very particular.

You can do two different types of procedures with a simple stainless tube. You can weld it, which is basically the process of joining two pieces of steel together, or you can anneal it, which is the process of bending or twisting the steel into several different shapes. A welding procedure is often done if you are working on stainless steel strips and they are only used for decorative purposes because they are rather susceptible to even the mid types of corrosion.

Apart from these two processes, steel can also be manufactured differently in terms of being cold worked or cold drawn. A cold work annealed tube is very similar to a normally annealed tube but the internal bead is rolled flush first on its inner surface before it was annealed. A cold drawn welded or annealed tube on the other had, is done on a certain stainless steel product to make it more durable. This procedure allows the tube to withstand great pressure and dimensional change. Next is the drawn seamless tube is another type. Drawn seamless tubes go through a very complicated process and it is done if you want to make the tube very durable and highly resistant to corrosion and pressure. Lastly, a spiral welded tube is one that is made out of a continuous strip of metal.

There are several different uses for stainless steel tubes. A common use for stainless steel square tube is for step ladders and foot railings. They are preferred for use because they are easy to install and quite readily available. All you need is a few pieces of bars and some combination brackets. You will need to mark the specific areas on the combination brackets to which you shall fit in the bars and then all you have to do is to inset the bars in and screw them in tightly. You of course have to make sure that both ends are screwed in evenly so that you do not put too much pressure on just one side of the bar.
