Do you know what Crime and Punishment is? Don't grow anxiety if you do not, many people don't know what Crime and Punishment is. The story a prominent Russian novel created by a man named Fyodor dostoyevsky. It has had colossal success worldwide and is considered one of the best books of all history. The book is centered around a dirt poor Russian man, whose self-importance and poverty make him him to do a terrible crime. This piece of writing summarizes the 7th chapter of the novel, one of the overall most essential chapters in the novel.
Chapter seven, transitions from Section 6 which describes how Raskolnikov has prepared for the crime, preparing a counterfeit trinket and sticking an axe in a coat. He is now at the entance of the the elderly woman and is extremely anxious. He pushes the doorbell numerous times. Later the the rich old woman answers the door and lets Raskolnikov inside. He brings her a counterfeit cigarette case which is covered in a looped rope. The the rich old woman has a hard time opening the case. In this time he uncovers the axe and slashes her with the axe, maiming the pawnbroker. He searches for the pawnbroker's keys and finds them. Raskolnikov then hurries into the other room. He only finds a couple trinkets in the end of the apartment. All the same, he expected to find a greater amount of cash. Suddenly, Lizaveta, the pawnbroker's sister comes into the room and sees the pawnbroker's dead body on the carpet. However, Raskolnikov also slays her. He then realizes the door has not been shut at all. By this time Raskolnikov is very frightened and does not know what to do. He washes his hands and quickly locks the entrance to room. Soon, two men come knocking. He manages to run to another apartment. He manages to find his way home and replaces the hatchet into its hiding position. He then goes back to his apartment.
