Summit Matsu Chilling Systems recently supplied premier complex metal parts supplier AW Bell Pty Ltd with a 34 kW air cooled Chiller which plays a key role in the water jet cleaning process for their foundry applications.
AW Bell has been an established company since 1952, from this time it has experienced significant growth having originally begun as a pattern maker. Today the business focuses primarily on investment casting foundry and has grown to the point that it now employs just over 60 people. They are a premiere supplier of complex metal parts using rapid prototyping, investment casting, sand casting and production machining technologies.
The chilling system supplied by Summit Matsu Chilling Systems is used in conjunction with AW Bells’ water jet cleaning process of foundry applications such as metal castings. The water jet pump uses 100 horsepower which is the high pressure level required to clean the castings. This process however uses up a large amount of water which is why it is more economical to recycle the water for the jet cleaning process.
As AW Bell is dedicated to conserving the environment wherever possible in their business processes, they called on Summit Matsu Chilling Systems to supply them with the chiller used in their water recycling process. During the recycling process the temperature of the water increases, but in order to recycle the water the temperature needs to be kept cool. Without the chiller, if the water gets to a certain temperature it can’t run through the pump to be recycled which is why the chiller plays an integral role in this process.
To AW Bell the chiller is an important part of the process which they rely upon for the cleaning of metal castings.
