One of the most important things for a woman is to ensure that she is wearing a correctly fitting bra, many people do not know their true bra size and have been wearing the wrong sized bra for years.
Â
Many people have been incorrectly measured for bras and due to bring measured and told that they are a certain size they have worn bras of that size even if they are not comfortable. Some women are embarrassed about being fitted for a bra and are wearing the same size bra they did in their teens or early twenties. When you are wearing an incorrectly fitting bra it can cause strain on your back because it is actually the back strap that gives the most support rather than the shoulder straps.
Â
An incorrectly fitting bra does not look nice under your clothes and will cause wrinkles or lumps and bumps rather than giving your figure a smooth outline. Even the nicest item of clothing won’t look as fabulous on if your bra does not fit correctly.
Â
Ideally you do not want to be measured for a bra you want to be fitted instead; being fitted allows you to find a size which is comfortable rather than quite simply being told this is the size that you are. You do not need to be professionally fitted if you do not want to be, though of course it is recommended.

Fitting yourself for a bra is very easy, when you are at home you need to take a look at how your bra fits you, does the back strap ride up or does it dig in? If your back strap rides up then it is too big and you need to go down in size so a 36 would become a 34 but if the strap digs in then you need to go up a size so a 36 would become a 38. You also need to take a look at how well your cups fit you, does the material wrinkle up or are your boobs cut across meaning that you are falling out of the top? If the material is wrinkling up then you need to go down a cup size, a C cup would become a B cup but if your cups are cutting across your boobs then you need to go up a cup size, a C cup would become a D cup. Once you have taken a look at how your bra fits you at home you will have an idea of what size may fit you better and with that you can go out shopping and try on a bra in that size and reassess how well it fits you and how comfortable it is to wear.
