Its broad façade, spacious courtyard and smooth marble floors are impressive. A three day Ijtima , a congregation of Muslims in India, held here annually, draws people from all over the country. For visitors, another place not to be missed is the Gohal Mahal. Situated in the banks of the magnificent Upper Lake, the palace was built by Gohar begum, who was the first woman ruler of Bhopal. The palace showcases a perfect blend of Hindu and Mughal Architecture. Another place you just cannot afford to miss out the stately hall of public audience of the earlier rulers of Bhopal, the Sadar Manzil.
