The largest and much opened market place in the world is the internet. Through the internet, the world is becoming a global village that removes distance. Internet is an open marketplace that is free to use for everybody. This is why the market place is over saturated with products and services. So customers have more than enough products or services to choose from. Yes, internet is free for everyone to use. This does not mean that customers or visitors will see your services or products online whenever it is available. In fact your customers that are aware of your physical office address might not know or see your products or services online. So the may not know that they also order for the same product or service online. This is why email marketing is very important.

With email marketing, you have the ability to advertise your products or services on the net through messages or emails that you send out to prospective buyers or customers. This system of marketing is very common now. However as a marketer you need to understand how it works. There are things you need to avoid. Let us move on.

Please there should be no spamming:
This is the first thing to avoid. It is a graven mistake to send out spam messages. These are unsolicited emails to customers. If you do, you have engaged in spamming. Spamming has caused many internet users or marketers to be banned. This also means you send out advertising messages emails in large quantity to people that have never asked for them in any way. Spamming has its disadvantages. e.g. it can lower the popularity of the products or services you are promoting. Try not to engage in this sort of marketing style as it could hurt your business so, avoid it.

Use tricks but do not flood:
Do not allow your email marketing to be pushing so as to sell products. Since people do not always believe or trust that what they see in your advert is what they are going to get, do not over praise the products or services you are promoting. If you do, they can have the belief that your advert is just too good to be true. And so refuse to buy your products or services. Let your email campaign be once a week. One per day is just too much while one per month is also too small which can give you the profit you want. Also, do not flood your prospective customers email boxes with necessary mails. So you really need to be very considerate.

Allow options for trust:
Also, let your users or prospective customers have options concerning unsubscribing link. Give them opportunity to unsubscribe. If you do, you are building a trust which could really affect your campaign positively. They will have confidence in you. If you are able to establish trust, you are able to or likely going to have more increase in sales. And this can really bring you good profits. One of the ways, therefore to build trust is to provide your prospective customers that receive your email the opportunity to always unsubscribe at anytime they feel like doing that.
