To run a successful blog you should focus on a particular niche. In order to make it work, you need to not only write good content, but you also need to promote your blog as well. One way to write and promote you blog is by taking a looking at other blogs in your niche and see what they are doing.
Remember that your blog may be viewed by people living in countries other than your own. As such, exhibit sensitivity when discussing globally controversial issues. Not everyone has had the same experiences. Remain open to understanding the perceptions of others, and you increase the likelihood of your blog having global success.

You can encourage commenting by asking questions and inquiring about your readers' perspectives in your blog articles. Responding to comments also encourages commenting.
Create archives for your blogs that are sorted by title, rather than the month they were created. Select around ten topics that your posts could be sorted into. This will give readers easier access to the archived information related to their interests. Monthly archives are far more difficult to locate specific topics in.
Be sure to link to some authorities. If your niche contains authorities, be sure to link to them. That can help the readers understand what your preferences are, along with your orientation. Knowing these facts about you can help them identify you better. Try to be specific and constant with your sources.
Pick a blog name that stands out so your viewers will remember it better. Just like popular corporation logos, your blog will be your brand. You will want to choose a blog name that stands apart from the crowd and shows that the content you have to offer is unique and high quality than other blogs.
So you see that blogging is indeed a skill, but one that can be learned by anyone with a sincere desire to establish a solid relationship with those who visit their website. Just because your customers are not ones that you meet face-to-face, does not mean that the personal element should be disregarded.
