Most of the time when we think about bathroom updates, we think about changing the tub, vanity or shower. The smaller items can make a big difference too. The bathroom is an important role and every piece in it is important. Make a difference without spending a lot of money by updating the small accessories.

What would your bathroom look like without a soap dish, shower curtain, or towel rack. Without them, we wouldn't be able to function well, but we only give these items a passing thought. Usually we make sure the colors match and then move on. Upgrading some of these small accessories can give your bathroom a needed face lift.

Since we spend a lot of time in the bathroom, we should make it as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. Just like you spend money to have your bedspreads and pillows and curtains match in your bedroom, you should spend the time and money to have good accessories in your bathroom.

An upgrade faucet for your sink may cost you about $50 to $75, but could be the piece that draws all eyes to your bathroom. When people enter your bathroom they will think that you have remodeled. The little upgrades might just make your house easier to sell when that time comes.

The shower curtain is the largest item in your bathroom but it is the most ignored. Instead of the basic plastic curtain try a fabric shower curtain with a liner. It will give your bathroom a touch of class.

There are alternatives to the traditional shower curtain called hookless shower curtains. Hookless shower curtains can take on many different forms. Snap on curtains fold over the the top of the curtain rod and the ends snap together. Another type of curtain has large holes that the rod goes through. The curtain top accordions back and forth on the rail. Instead of hooks you can use ties. This can give your bathroom a very 'homey' and country look.

Since the shower curtain is the biggest item in your bathroom, everything else in the bathroom should be bought to match your shower curtain. Don't just settle for one plain color, be creative, be exciting, make your bathroom sparkle. Look around your bathroom and think of other small items that you can change or upgrade. You might find that for a little amount of money your bathroom can look new.

Author Resource:

It's not hard to liven up your bathroom without spending a lot of money. Make the most of what you already have by using a curved curtain rod and increase your space. If you're tired of the same old thing for shower curtains, try a new twist which also can make hanging a curtain easier - try a hookless shower curtain rod and stop fighting with the curtain hooks.
