In Today s Market It Is Possible To Own Quality Cheap Guitars

It does seem a little strange putting those two words together, quality and cheap but as the case is with many products, cheap does not have to be defined by poor craftsmanship or lousy materials, With regards to quality cheap guitars it simply means that the product, is less expensive than some of the other models out there.

That is how I will be referring to the cheap through out this article. We will be looking at guitars that are on the lower end of the price range. I am not going to say that there isn t any cheaply made guitars out there. As you well know, there are plenty of those to choose from. I m not going to talk about those types of guitars here. If you want can only spend $50 for a guitar, you are going to be dealing with quality issues.

Let s talk about what you can expect to pay for a decent guitar and talk a little about materials and construction as well as where on line can you find quality cheap guitars.

How Much To Spend For Quality Cheap Guitars (You need to spend some but not a lot)

When I was young and just starting out playing the guitar I had very little money to spend on the instrument. I ended up buying a used guitar which was O.K. to start with. Cheap guitars in those days cost around $25. The problem with any cheap used guitar whether it be cheap electric guitars or cheap acoustic guitars or even cheap bass guitars for that matter is you end up with something that you stop playing do to the quality of the instrument. You should try your best to invest in a guitar that you can t wait to play. The last thing you want is a dust collector.

I would plan on spending $100 (or more if possible) if you are just starting out. With a little digging you can find something that will perform until you can afford to upgrade. Typically you should spend between $200 and $400 in order to own a guitar that will stand the test of time. Once you get into this price range you will find that the feel and sound of the guitar will be much better. Go to a music store and try a few out in your price range. Then go on line to make the purchase, you will find a lot better deals there for quality cheap guitars.

Quality Cheap Guitars Materials And Craftsmanship
(Competition is stiff, you have the upper hand)

I have seen some guitars that I swear were made out of stiff cardboard. You hold them the wrong way and they would fall apart. In my experience it seems anything much under $100 is going to be a little shaky. Again, there are a few that will be just fine for awhile. Here is what I have found in my research...Cheap Acoustic Guitars. There are only 2 one that page that work for me. I m still digging around for more. I would stay away from those super cheap guitars that run for $49. You are just not going to be happy with it in the long run. They are slapped together in an hour using inferior materials.

When you are looking at quality cheap guitars take note of how they are assembled. Are the joints sloppy. Look closely inside, is the glue just gobbed on there or are the glue lines clean. You want to have good tuning heads. Are they firm yet smooth when turning them? Also the action on the neck is a big factor. Avoid a thick fat neck, the strings should be very close to the frets without touching them. Most guitars in the $200 to $400 price range will be made out of a quality hard wood such as hickory, rosewood, walnut or maple. Stay away from composite materials as a general rule. There are a few exceptions.

Competition is fierce. All these manufacturers want your dollars. So for the most part you will be able to find cheap guitars that will be just fine for the money spent. The biggest problem is sorting through all the options.

Find Quality Cheap Guitars On line
(The Internet is where to learn and buy)

Do your research. The Internet has everything you need in order to find and purchase quality cheap guitars. It is just amazing how much information you can pull off line. You can dig around in the forums and blogs and see what people are talking about relative to guitars. Search the review sites. After going through the info determine what guitar is being talked about the most in your price range. Chances are really good that you will find just the right kind of guitar you are looking for.

Author Resource:

What I have done is search a number of well established suppliers, looking through their product line and determining what guitars are carrying a 5 star rating and are "Top Sellers." You can see my favorites all in one place. Check out the best deals on the Web at http://cheapguitarsstore.com
