Greece offers an array of opportunities for a fantastic gay vacation. While you will not find a highly visible LGBT scene on Crete, you will find a few bars and establishments, beaches, a LGBT owned bed and breakfast and a welcoming environment, making Crete a great choice for a vacation in Greece.
The Island of Lesvos – often referred to as Lesbos – is an obvious choice for lesbian travelers where they can explore Sappho’s birthplace, take romantic strolls along pristine beaches, experience a hydrotherapy spa treatment, people watch over ouzo at a sidewalk café and indulge in the friendly women centered nightlife. Of historical importance to the lesbian community and always filled with lesbian travelers, Lesvos is a must see for women on vacation to Greece.
As a country, Greece is rather traditional and religious; however, Greece is a hotspot for vacations and travelers will find a warm, welcoming atmosphere in most parts of the country. Visiting Greece as part of an organized travel group is a wonderful way to take in all that Greece has to offer and to experience LGBT life in Greece while on your vacation.
