Excessive sweating in the armpits is not only uncomfortable, but also embarrassing especially when you are in a public place among many people. Nobody will like it when they are in a public gathering or event among other people having fun, and their day or evening and also their dress spoilt by their excessive and uncontrollable sweating. Everyone will sweat to some extent, but when your sweating is so profuse as to stain your shirt, and you notice that your armpits are frequently dripping with sweat, then it’s clear that this is indeed a problem. Such excessive sweating in your armpits can have several causes like your physical exertion during a particular task, or the climate of the area in which you live.

When you’re living in an arid or humid climate, the body will step up the secretion of sweat in an attempt to cool the skin, which will subsequently lower the overall body temperature. This is a usual occurrence where perspiration becomes a necessity to prevent overheating of the body in hot climes. If you find that your sweat is excessive in winter, and your clothes don’t make you feel warm, then you are likely to have a condition called hyperhidrosis. There is no cause to worry, as there are ways to solve the problem and possibly eliminate it.

Incorporating some modifications into your lifestyle will provide relief to some extent, from your excessive sweating. Some drinks such as those which are alcoholic in constitution and also coffee, can increase the body temperature which will induce perspiration. It is also recommended to avoid spicy foods containing ingredients like onions, chilies and garlic. Basically, any substance that makes your mouth burn and sends you scurrying for a glass of cool water not only burns your tongue but also raises your body temperature.

If you visit the local pharmacy, you can come across various non invasive products that are designed to curb sweating in the armpits. Though department stores and supermarkets also have several antiperspirants in their merchandise, the pharmacy offers better chances as specific brands and products which are their regular stocks may not be available in those department stores or supermarkets.

When you’re seeking to purchase a product from the local store or pharmacy for minimizing the excessive sweating in your armpits, it is very important for you to remember that deodorants aren’t made with the purpose of reducing your sweating. Though they may help to some extent, the main objective of a body spray or deodorant is to render the smell of sweat to be less offensive. On the other hand, antiperspirants are the most suitable non invasive products for use against excessive sweating in the armpits. The antiperspirants which are the most effective, contain permissible amounts of aluminum chloride, which is an ingredient well known for rendering relief from profuse sweating. Antiperspirants available over the counter will have a maximum aluminum chloride content of 12 .

If everything else ends in failure, your next step against the unwelcome occurrence of excessive sweating is paying a visit to your doctor, who will prescribe a suitable medication or topical cream.
