Having tried all avenues I have come to the realization that tummy tuck jeans are the best solution!
During pregnancy the rectus abdominus muscles separate. This is the muscle that you use to rely on to hold your tummy in. Without these muscles holding in your intestines, gravity takes it’s toll and your tummy no longer tucks in but instead your tummy pops out. The reason this happens is fairly obvious if you have ever been pregnant. As the baby grows the touching muscles move further and further apart to make room for the baby. The process of separation is called diastasis recti.
After the birth of my first baby I honestly thought that I had a hernia as a direct result of this natural separation because when I sat forward my insides actually bulged out of my tummy. I felt like Sigourney Weaver in Aliens3, when the alien bursts out of her stomach. This self diagnosis proved to be highly amusing to my female physician. I was lying on the examination trolley, holding baby David on my lap and tried to do a sit up for her. All I could manage was the scary bulge, I couldn’t even sit up and the doctor had to hold the baby while I swung my legs round and sat up with the aid of my arms. This really tickled the doctor, who’d had two children herself. She explained that I was perfectly fine, just another case of the worried well, she didn’t actually say the last bit, but I got her jest.
Resent research done by Marybeth Brown, professor of physical therapy in MU’s School of Health Professions wrote in 2006 that women between the ages of 20 and 50 loose 10 – 15 of their muscle bulk. This loss of muscle, coupled with pregnancy gives the saggy belly syndrome.
In come the Tummy Tuck Jeans. Or “NYDJ (Not Your Daughter’s Jeans). These jeans are carefully constructed to flatten out the lower abdomen and at the same time lift the bum. Because of the cut and a clever use of modern materials the effect is created without you having to feel even slightly constricted. The cut of the tummy tuck jean incorporates a crisscross front panel and a supportive but extra stretchy back panel. No more having to hoist up your jeans after sitting down, they actually stretch and move with you. The fabric is so soft and comfortably cut that you will feel as comfortable in them as you do in your jogging pants. No need to actually use those joggers for their intended function anymore. Now you can go jogging for fun, not for your tum.
So wear your tummy tuck jeans with pride, cook the family a chocolate fudge cake, make sure you have a big piece yourself, settle down with a big mug of hot tea and a good book. Forget the house work, you look like a million dollars put your feet up and enjoy the moment.
