Do you realize that if you do not work at keep a relationship with someone alive it is like walking away from it? You might have had a friend and you thought this friend was a best friend only to find out that you are no longer even friends. This happens a lot with childhood friends. The reason this happens is that you might lose touch with this person. They might have moved away or you ended up running in different circle of friends. Whatever the reason this happens a lot.
You will have many friends when you are young and only a few will follow you through your life. This will usually only be one or two. Keeping these with you or even close to you will take some work on both of your parts. It will not always be easy and you will have problems from time to time but this friendship will be strong enough to survive. This relationship should be as important as any of your other relationships so you will have to work to keep it safe. It is never easy to walk away from anything in your life and this relationship is harder.
If you do not work at something it will cease to work. This is what will happen when you do not try to keep a relationship alive. When not worked on it is like walking away. With the longer you let this happen you will find when needed this person will be gone. They will also give up and walk right out of your life. It is important that you have friends but you really need to have this one to be there thick or thin. Any relationship is going to be hard and will need some work or maybe a lot of work. With this best friend you and him or her will both have to keep in touch.
Try never to just walk away from this best friend as you might find that you will end up alone when you get up in age. It is lonely when you have no one that comes to see you when you are sick and in the hospital. Even if you are never sick a day in your life if you have no one you call a friend you will find that you are truly alone and none of you want this.
