There's a new disaster movie out called 2012 and it is a special effects stunning success. There are a multitude of tidal waves, buildings collapsing, and recognized monuments torn to pieces.
The concept for the movie came from an old prophecy that the world will end on December 21, 2012. This date coincides with the end of the Mayan long count calendar and some irrational folks have taken that to mean that doomsday will come about.
Other predictions stem from Nostradamus, Edgar Cayce, the Hopi Nation, and modern day psychics.
Believers of the apocolyptic prophecy offer various versions of the end of days. The most popular claim involves a mystifying planet called Nibiru or Planet X and that it will rocket into the inner solar system and either hit the Earth or come close enough to cause worldwide devastation. Picture gigantic tidal flooding, earthquakes, or the Earth spinning out of its solar orbit and into the depths of space.
Other “futures” include:
The Planet's axis will flip causing the ice caps to melt, bringing about global flooding, covering the ENTIRE earth in water.
The planetary alignment and huge amounts of radiation being thrown out of the sun, creating devastationto our planet… and us.
You’ve probably read numerousvariations of these prophecies about what will happen in 2012… but are they just that? Just predictions?
Reports even say that NASA has known about the mystery planet since the early 1980s but has covered it up to avoid widespread alarm. Not surprisingly, NASA denies these claims.
Other versions of the armageddon scenario involve gamma ray bursts destroying the Earth's magnetic field, a planetary alignmentdisturbing Earth's orbit, a 180 degree pole shiftthat would literally redraw the planet's maps, comet impacts, and a massive solar radiation burst that would eraselife on Earth.
All of these possible scenariosmight be devastating to Earth. But are they really probable? Or are they just crackpot theories with some pseudo-science mixed in to make them appear genuine?
I presume we will have to hang around and see what occurs. Will the 2012 planetary alignmentbring devastation or will it benefit the human race allowing a renewal and cleansing? I choose the latter! We manifest what we believe.
