Make sure to use a respirator and rubber gloves when working with Methanol. The amount of Methanol needed to make a complete batch in 2.6 liters.
Lye can be purchased at your local hardware store and is a main ingredient. Use caution when handling lye, it can cause severe burns. Safety precautions such as eye protection and gloves are a must when working with lye. To make a complete batch of fuel, you will need 53 grams of lye.
Plastic buckets and paint mixers can be purchased at your local hardware store. These you will need to complete the process. A good strainer is also needed to complete the fuel making process. These are a few things to get started in making your own biodiesel at home.
