I'm looking for some modifications for my car. It's an older model Toyota that we bought right before we got married. As a matter of fact, I chose that car because it had an automatic transmission, which meant that my girlfriend - now wife - and I could hold hands while we drove. Yes, it's romantic and silly, but such is life.
A lot of good things have happened in that car. We actually got engaged in it. I kid you not; we were having a serious discussion about the future of our relationship, and I as the moment intensified, something inside of me told me to ask her to marry me right then and there. I hesitated, because I always thought that when I did propose, I would come up with some cool and original way to pop that question, but as I sat there, looking into her beautiful eyes, listening to her tell me how much she loved me, something inside kept saying, "Do it. Ask her now." So I did, and it was the happiest moment of our lives to that point, right there, in my Toyota.
We brought our first born home from the hospital in that car. I still remember feeling safer as we drove, knowing the car and the car company's track record. As our family had grown, we've added one car seat after another, until we have now reached the point where we don't all fit in safely anymore. We've gone through several vans, yet the old Toyota remains.
So, since we don't seem to be getting rid of it, I thought it was time to give it a facelift. It has a number of dents, so once I get those popped out and smoothed over, I want to give it some stylish body side molding. That's the stuff that goes on the doors and around the fenders to protect the car from being dinged by other cars and shopping carts in parking lots. A lot of cars are without it these days because someone somewhere decided it didn't look good, but with the right body side molding, the car can not only look great; it can be protected as well.
When we're done, the car will look great. If we hold on to it for long enough, it will eventually become a classic car. Imagine that, my senior citizen wife and I, still driving around in the car where we got engaged, maybe with a grandchild or two in the car seats in the back. I really love my life, and I love that car as well.
