The Internet has really grown a long way in its shorts existence. I remember in the very beginning everyone had (I think it was) a 14.4 modem and everyone was using AOL. However over the last 10 years technology has taken off like crazy, and the Internet has been effected drastically. In this article I want to talk about "Google Voice" and how it is revolutionizing technology today.
So with all these new advancements in technology people have been able to connect with family and friends in different ways now. I remember when it very first started people were emailing each other ( I even taught my mother how to email). Then came instant messaging, which was a way to instantly talk to people in real time. This was so cool and I was hooked to it when it first came out. Then came social bookmarking and this was an addictive way to keep in touch with family and friends. Now you might be wondering what is next?
Well now there is something called "Google Voice." This allows people to talk to people in real time. Cell phones are expensive and this is a free service. However, people are growing concerned with their security. There are handfuls of website floating around the Internet and they can show anyone your personal information, which is quite scary. You never know what online predators is looking at your personal information.
However, Google Voice actually has thought of your security and does not give out your personal information. Your personal information is not made public, and you remain anonymous when using this service. This is great for connecting to people for business reasons, too.
Furthermore, you do not have to spend the extra money in order to be put on the no call list to enable that you are not hassled by unsolicited sales calls. Another great feature about this service is you can set all of you incoming calls to go to your cell phone. You can then set them to go directly to your voicemail and then they can be translated to text messages, so that you can read them at a later date.
It is really so amazing how technology is shaping everything we do in our daily lives. I would never have dreamed of how different the world would be 20 years ago. Our friends at Google are helping us more and more everyday and one can only wonder what more technologic advancements will come in the future.
