The 2010 Ford Focus is available in two models, sedan and coupe. The sedan comes in a four door model with different packages; S, SE, SES and SEL trim levels, but the coupe only comes as an SE or SES package. Whatever Focus you pick you will get the same engine 2.0 liter four cylinder inline offering 140 horsepower. The car has a standard five speed manual transmission with a four speed automatic transmission optional. The car gets you around town with ease.
One of the best features on this car is the Sync system which is developed with Microsoft it allows one to use their cell phone, MP3 player, iPOD, Bluetooth, and Personal Data Administrator via voice commands with a four speaker CD/MP3 player and standard auxiliary jack. On more expensive packages you can also use the Sync system to get navigation and travel conditions. Otherwise the interior of the vehicle is pretty standard for a vehicle of this size with cloth seats and a vinyl dashboard. The seating is comfortable enough for around town or road trips with plenty of storage in the fourteen cubic foot trunk space.
The exterior of the vehicle is sporty and low to the ground for smoother turns and handling. It handles well for the price tag. Steel wheels in a 15 inch base come with the S sedan, a tilt steering wheel and air-conditioning but not any electric windows or door locks. The SE comes with alloy wheels and all electric accessories. If you want an even sportier look you can get more accessories in items including fog lamps and a rear spoiler or upgrade to a six CD changer, steering wheel wrapped in leather, a sunroof, interior lighting that is controlled by driver, and a rear view mirror that dims automatically. All these features are very user friendly do there is no danger of you having to take your eyes of the road to initiate them.
Another great aspect of the vehicle is the gas mileage, and both the coupe and sedans get the same mpg of 24 in town and 35 on the highway. The combination of great gas mileage and sporty good looks makes driving the Ford Focus a zippy fun adventure whether you've just started driving or are a seasoned pro. You can upgrade once more to the SEL trim package but only in the sedan model. It will give you what the SE package has except for the sunroof and spoiler but it adds a 16 inch set of alloy wheels, the suspension is built for a sportier feel, side mirrors with electric heaters, leather seats which are also heated in the front buckets as well as chrome interior and exterior accents which gives the SEL package a more customized look. This is one of those rare cars that looks as good as it feels to drive.
If you have teenagers who will be driving this vehicle it comes standard with six airbags on all models, including side-impact front seat airbags and side curtain air bags for the rear and front seat passengers. The Focus also features antilock brakes with a stability control standard with any of the trim levels. A new feature for this model is the MyKey system allowing parents to specify limits for speed and volume control for teenage drivers of the vehicle, this feature adds increased safety and peace of mind when your child leaves home without you. This feature is very easy to initiate so there is so frustrated fumbling around to set the limits.
Surprisingly, the Focus earned a five star crash rating in head on collisions for its front seat driver and/or passenger from the government and an overall 'good' from the insurance industry. Over all; this vehicle provides a great ride with lots of fun features, great gas mileage and the dependability that comes with this trusted brand as well as the safety necessary to make this a great vehicle.
