We live in the age of the computer and many people in their 30's and beyond have trouble even turning their computers on or checking their email. This lack of tech knowledge becomes a problem for these people in the workforce.

In today's technology driven world, computer skills are a necessary requirement in any line of work. The demand for workers with a technology background in every industry is high, and the rewards are even higher.

There are three reasons why it is a good idea for anyone, in any line of work, to go back to school to learn more about technology. This article will discuss these three reasons in detail and hopefully help you understand why it is important.

The first reason why you should go back to computer school is because every major industry now runs on computers. No matter what field you end up working in, the reliance on technology is crucial.

An excellent example of a job that now requires computing skills is a mechanic. Twenty years ago, mechanics did not need to know one thing about technology. In todays world, every car on the market has an internal CPU that the mechanic needs to know how to use, and also how to manipulate.

When you apply for a job, no matter what job you are applying for, there will always be a section in the application for computer skills. If you can't say that you have any IT skills, then your chances of getting that job may be in jeopardy.

No matter what kind of job you have right now, or what kind of job you want in the future, computer skills are a valuable commodity that you need to have.

The second reason why going back to school to study computing is a good idea is to keep up with the younger generation of workers. This new generation, known as generation z, have grown up with laptops in their hands and are so smart with technology it's crazy.

When looking up how to videos on youtube that have anything to do with technology, the people who are normally making these how to videos are between the ages of 12 and 20. Many people have their tech problems solved by 12 year olds who have just grown up with computers.

If the older generation of workers wants to keep their current jobs, it is a must to return to your education and gain this necessary knowledge. If you do not, your job will be given to someone from generation z who already possesses this education.

The third reason why going back to get a computing education is a good idea is because the compensation is a lot higher when you have a technology background. An employee who has computer training will generally get paid 15 to 20 percent more than an employee that has none.

At most universities, the technology majors are the highest paid out of all majors. The need for employees who know about IT is in such high demand, that companies are willing to pay the price to have them on board.

If you are already employed, many companies will pay for their employees to go back to school to get computer training. This can be a great situation because if you do go back for this training, you are usually also eligible for a pay rise when you return.

Along with getting paid more, when you gain these important skills, you are solidifying your value to the company that you work for. The job security that comes with tech skills is probably the most valuable asset you can attain in this economic climate.

Computers are the future. The reliance on computers in every industry is growing, and it will not stop any time soon. There is no way that anyone will be able to survive in the new millennium without a base in computing.

Going back to school may feel like a step in the wrong direction, but there is value and security in doing so. This is why it is a good idea to go back to Computer School.
