India being a developing country has still lot of room for growth in various sectors. In particular some of the problems are strikingly visible and they require immediate attention. One of the menaces that we find in India is the child labor problem. This is associated with poverty and poor literacy rates in various parts of the country. Slums of Mumbai are known for this problem. Slum children in Mumbai do not get any educational attention. They are exploited in every possible way by their parents and unscrupulous members of the society who have no respect for people.

To help people who are having problems at various level, NGOs try to put their best foot forward in helping the poor. They try to offer free education in India. Try to educate the slum children in Mumbai and the other parts of the country. Though there are numerous government programs available in India, all of them do not have enough reach. It is very important that the stake holders take personal interest in these programs. Such personal interest is evident with NGOs. Tarang for instance is an educational NGO in India. They work tirelessly to remove the inequalities in the society by providing quality education to the needy people in the society. They concentrate on the slum children of Mumbai providing them with free education to children. Along with the education, they also give children love and compassion that are amiss in the society. This helps them to grow up as self-confident individuals.

Offering free education to slum children is a noble social service in India because this is one of the neediest areas that requires attention from government as well as from the NGOs.

There are NGOs that work for the welfare of women and some for the young people. All these NGOs try to change the society with their good work. India is so vast and the population is so huge, all the efforts are just trickles into the ocean. Lot more needs to be done to create good impact in the society.

You too will be able to join them as part of the good work that is being done in the society. You can check with your local NGO and see how you can be of assistance to them. You can send financial support to educational NGOs in India such as Tarang and sponsor their educational programs. It is possible to sponsor a child's education with as little as Rs. 2000 which is less then $50 for an entire year. There are many such opportunities for you to help the NGOs that do good to the society through their welfare programs.
