More and more folks are starting with the woodworking hobby on a regular basis. Working with wood uses wood and specific tools to produce lovely items that can last a lifetime. For any person who is still new to woodworking, this is the perfect project to get going with. To get a basic bird feeder, all you will require is some cedar lumber, cedar shingles, a dowel, window screen, and floor screws to keep everything together.
There exists a quite simple bird feeder plan that one could try out and all you need to create this is cedar wood, shingles, dowel, window screen, plus some glue and outdoor patio screws to hold everything together. This will give birds an adequate angle to stand up on in which they will not fall and also help to make the bird feeder look great. The first must be larger, drilled in four inches up from the base of the wood and about 1 ¼” in dimension. Don't forget, the top woodworkers always measure twice and cut one time.
Keep in mind that great woodworkers always measure twice and cut one time and this is a guideline to live by. Drill a smaller sized hole under the large hole that you just made, about ¼” in size. And then you should cut two sides at 1 ½ x 6” and the front just a bit bigger at 1 ½ x 8”. At this moment you have to put together all the different pieces.
Now that you've got all your pieces you can start joining them together and actually creating your bird feeder. Countersink 2 holes inside the back which you will use to attach the edges and epoxy both sides onto the rear. Carpenter’s epoxy is best for this as it’s genuinely strong and standard glues may not hold the wood properly. Epoxy and nail the front part onto the two sides subsequent, then staple the screen on the bottom part of the bird feeder.
After you have the front and base glued on you can begin putting in nails. You now cut the dowel down and epoxy it to the smaller sized hole you created previously, then epoxy and nail on the two roof pieces so that they come together and join up properly. This is a quite easy diy woodwork plan but one which can continue to be hard for newbies. This is a really basic diy wood working project which even a novice can grasp, and a terrific project to utilize to get your feet within the door.
