For some it is the one thing in the world they want most, for others it seems like a good way to live. After all you do not really work at home like you would in the actual office. Do You?
Plenty of people really don't take those who choose to or are working at home on the Internet too seriously. After all your in the home so you cannot be doing all that much work can you?
Oh and here is a different one, people think that because your working at home you get up when you want, do not need to wear proper clothes or simply PJ's and a dressing gown and that you can go to bed whenever you wish to.
Truth is many of the above might be true for some.
Let's face it why did you desire to work at home on the Internet in the 1st place anyway. I know for me freedom was a big factor, not being a slave to time was a huge incentive and being in control of my own destiny another reason.
As it happens I rise at an honest time, shower, shave and get dressed after which put in a hard days graft. Some days might be anything up to 18 hours long, but that is principally because time just doesn't matter anymore and it really does just fly when you do something you love.
Yes there's days when I just head down to the beach for a couple of hours, but even then I might take the trusty laptop with me if I would like to do some work whilst getting some fresh air.
The point is I knew what I wanted from my home based business, and I set myself the goal to get what I wanted.
Therefore the question is, do you have what it takes to work from home and {do you know|have you any
idea} why you want to in the first place?
To help you figure out here's some questions to ask yourself.
1: What's your Motivation?
In other words, what exactly is it that makes you think that you wish to work from home? To earn cash, the freedom it is able to offer you or you just want to escape the rat race and do something new? Whatever your reasons are you'll want to be clear about what you are likely to be doing.
2: How Are You Going To Generate An Income?
You also need to have some idea about just how you are likely to generate an income. Working at home is a business and as such you will need to make sure you put your business head on and accept that a lot of hard work is ahead of you.
3: Do You Have A Plan?
It might be written on the back of a postcard or you might have a completely functioning plan all laid out on some project management software. It really won't matter. The important thing is to get a plan of action. Ensure it is as clear as possible and take each step at a time.
4: What Are Your Goals?
Set yourself some goals to accomplish at certain times along the way. These could just be anything from building a niche site to when you are going to make your first sale. The important thing here is to be realistic and do not set your goals to high to start with. Many home businesses fail resulting from setting goals too high. Regardless of whether you do fall short of your goals learn from these times and keep moving on.
5: Have You Got The Stamina?
Be under no illusion that when you work at home on the Internet running your own business is usually just as tough as fighting your way into the office everyday and then attempting to meet your boss's expectations for that days work. You're the boss now but your also cleaner, tea maker and chief bottle washer.
There will be days as I mentioned before when the day can last forever and you will need to be able to deal with this. When 5 O'clock comes you just cannot walk away and leave things waiting for tomorrow.
But I have to let you know, those 18 hour days just make me buzz even more. Why?
Well on those sorts of days I look from the window and think how lucky you can be if you just take the chance with both hands and go with it.
