Perspiration (sometimes called sweating while others called it transpiration) is a process of the body that is truly beneficial for us. It actually regulates body temperature. But what if it becomes excessive? Well, that is a different story. If excessive sweating happens very frequently under normal conditions, then you might be suffering from hyperhidrosis. Don t panic, this is not deadly. However, it is very uncomfortable. Let me tell you why.
Certain parts of the body are affected by hyperhidrosis. This can be your hands (so it is called palmar hyperhidrosis) or you feet, your head or your face. If you have palmar hyperhidrosis, you might find it uneasy to shake other people s hand without wiping your wet hands first. Or sometimes, you might want to write hastily but will end up having a messy paper and hand because of those sweating palms. It is, therefore, NOT comfortable.
Another part which usually acts like a focal point, is your feet. Well, obviously, it is very uncomfortable. For example, if your feet sweats a lot and you are a woman who wants to wear high heeled sandals, there may be times wherein you find it slippery to walk because of those wet feet. If you are a man, well, you might not want others to smell your feet because if you will wear shoes with socks, your smell might be something that might keep the people away. Sorry to say, but this can be the worst case scenario. Excessive facial sweating will also melt the makeup of women. This causes you to look really messy.
Lastly, let us discuss “head sweating”. This is something that might be solved easily. Head sweating, if it becomes very excessive, will cause those sweat to fall down your face. So, it could be that at the end of the day, your head and your face will be all wet. What could be the simple solution to this?
Don t jump into a decision of going through a surgery or whatever technological stuff to cure the problem. It is important that you will learn the cause. For example, if it runs in the family that everyone or someone have excessive head sweating, then there is no question that your problem is hereditary. Also, if you have a health problem like you have a thyroid problem, then it can cause hyperhidrosis. Thus, just eat good food rich in iodine and you can really solve it. If you know that you are obese, then your excessive head sweating can be caused by this. So, have a balanced diet and reduce your weight.
Along these simple solutions, you must have proper hygiene. Take a bath everyday. It is not enough that you wet your body and put a little soap all over your body. Don t forget to shampoo your hair. This is important to prevent that smelly hair once your head sweats a lot. Also, don t ever wear a hat. It will just keep your head warm and so your sweat glands will produce much sweat. Lastly, drink a lot of water to replace lost liquid.
