Designer Tips For Fashion Styling - Combine and Match Your Method to Chic
When folks realize out that I'm a fashion designer, apart from the cliche assumption that I design and make my garments (that I do not!), they usually presume that I have a specific clothing style and that I pay a lot of cash when I search for clothes. Essentially, neither of those misconceptions is true. I don't have a outlined fashion style. The manner I dress depends greatly infrequently, location, season, current trends, time of the day, and my mood. Many times, I'll truly use fashion styling to get myself in a bound mood. After I'm asked for styling recommendation, I am going to reply with "How do you would like to feel?" I assume fashion and styling posses a power that may make you're feeling a sure way. In this text, I will share some "Designer Tips" on fashion styling. I am going to start with some very vital fashion advice- how to buy for clothes.
Since my outfits usually turn some heads, individuals assume they are very expensive- yet another false impression. Not to say that I won't often splurge on one thing expensive; I just appreciate a smart discount once I see one. The only time I will overpay for an item is once I LOVE it and I apprehend I won't be able to find it anywhere else. Just like the Diesel jacket I bought for $165. It absolutely was exactly what I was trying for and I knew that nobody else would build one thing even remotely similar. Casual, however chic; sporty, but girly - I knew it might last for some seasons. That's actually one of my fashion looking rules: if I pay more than $one hundred fifty for one thing, it has to last for a few seasons. If I am looking for one thing very fashionable that will probably be "in" for only one season, I will not spend additional than $100, higher nonetheless, no more than $50.
Therefore how do I manage to appear expensive? Designer tip number one is nice fit. If something doesn't match right, irrespective of how cheap it's - I won't buy it. Why would I wear one thing that pulls and gathers in the incorrect places and appearance awkward on me? It does not matter how much salespeople strive to "facilitate", and say it's not noticeable. I notice, and others can too. They might not be in a position to pinpoint precisely what bothers them, but they will notice one thing's off. The same concept goes for details and accents - several people suppose they do not notice little details, however they do. Some details could not stand out on their own, but they definitely contribute to overall appearance.
Once I went on a blind date carrying a plain black jersey skirt slightly below the knee that I bought for $20. I paired it with a black tank that had a touch of lace ($15), and killer wanting shoes. They were pointy high heels in pale metallic pink, which created a vintage look ($55, a lucky bargain purchase!). Two men accused me of trying to cause a traffic accident as I crossed the road! Men and (more remarkably) women were turning their heads. Needless to mention, my blind date was a lot of then relieved! His first remark to me was that he "loved trendy women". Bottom line: my outfit was totally stylish- and every one below $100.
Another searching tip: to make an ordinary outfit look chic, I'll contribute one thing expensive, such as an accessory. I went to a celebration sporting a black jersey dress with bishop sleeves ($25), and accented it with a hip formed beaded belt I bought in London for nearly $250. I know it sounds overpriced, however that belt breathed new life into a heap of older outdated garments that I loved dearly. I had this gorgeous chiffon dress that I bought 7 years ago. I loved the mysterious color result created by layers of different color fabrics and the manner the skirt flared. Even when the silhouette went out of vogue, I couldn't bear to part with that dress! By adding my beaded belt, I successfully reshaped the dress creating a low waist retro kind of look, and wore it to my best friend's wedding- with complements!
The truth is that I like fashion, and I love women. It makes me happy once I can make a difference in their often complicated, nevertheless extraordinary lives. Ladies, remember when it involves fashion, nothing is written in stone. What is a fashion disaster these days could be on the runway tomorrow, and vice versa.
