SHARED WALLS:
The fewer common or shared walls, the better. This also applies to floors and ceilings, and that is why being on the top floor is often thought of as the prized location, because there is nobody living above you, so no annoying footsteps in the middle of the night!. The top floor will probably give you a much better view of the neighbourhood, and so if you have chosen a good location, the view from the top should be good too, our next item on the checklist. Remember that you need to be able to get to your apartment, so make sure that getting to the top floor is not a exhausting of stair climbing - make sure there is a lift!
VIEWS:
A pleasant view from your apartment is very important. There is not anything worse than getting a great view of your next door neighbours washing line, or looking straight into the neighbours home. When inspecting an apartment, make sure that you have either stunning views, or at the very minimum, non distasteful and neutral views. A view overlooking the surrounding neighbourhood is satisfactory. When examaning the view, you should also be inspecting for views of your apartment. Will you be living in a fish bowl. Your privacy is essential too!
BUILDING QUALITY:
The quality and amenities of the apartment block are the final thing that you must to take into account. It is equally significant that the apartment block is in good condition, no visible cracks, secure and well lit entrances, and secure parking. How old is the apartment? Are there any visible signs that work needs to be done? These are all very important things to consider.
Dont forget to do a proper check of the apartment, but prior to that, a few preliminary checks will help determine if this is the apartment for you.
