One of the problems in the first phases of starting a business from home is the need to consistently complete tasks that, for the majority of us, are monotonous and repetitive.
So, here are five ideas to help make these first days rather less onerous:
1. Understand Why You Are Attempting It
If you understand what you would like to attain from developing a business, rather than a job, you are able to remind yourself of this when the work gets hard. The more precise you can be the better. Don't just pronounce I want to make loads of money. Get clear about how much you want to produce on an twelve-monthly basis and then spend some time thinking about the reason why you picked that amount.
Pay distinct attention to what you’re wanting to generate in the future which you could do or have in some way right away. Then don't hold off. Do it now.
2. Do not Carry on Telling Yourself Disapproving Messages
Don't keep telling yourself how "tedious" it is - or whatever your actual whinge is. Do not have a discussion about it, either to other folks or inside your head. Simply do it.
The human brain is a magnificent biocomputer. It feeds us energy when we feed it anything that inspires and it slows us up when we feed it something unconstructive or depressing.
The key part to grasp is that we are the ones who are sending the ideas to the computer. Life itself doesn't feed the brain anything. Only we do, by how we interpret what life presents and the tale we tell ourselves regarding it. For example we might say "These activities are dull and boring and I don't want to do them" or we may say "This procedure is a needed step along the way that is bringing me more rapidly to what I want and it will not always be like this". Each are interpretations and tales. BUT, one sends energy and enthusiasm and the other one frustration and fatigue.
3. Break Down Your Projects Into Manageable Blocks
Do not work on any activity for more than 45 minutes. And divide up the work with something that requires you to shift your body and move away from the computer.
4. Celebrate Your Success
Rather than focussing on what is still outstanding make a record of what you've carried out. As an example, in my online marketing business, I have found it motivating to have a chart on my office wall that I colour in each time I write another piece of writing. Also, I have one that represents the total articles submitted to directories. Observing the amounts rise demonstrates to me that I'm achieving something, even if the anticipated goals of my effort, in terms of visitor numbers, rankings etc. have yet to appear, and this helps me remain enthusiastic.
5. Take on Something New
Whilst your day by day businesss is still at the stage of boring and repetitive it's worth making the time to study something new. This might or may not be related to work. But, DO NOT do this, until you've finished your key work actions.
Research has shown that the brain actually increases physical capacity (similar to the way an exercised limb adds power) when you learn something new. It does not just add the information, it adds "learning strength" by way of dendrite growth in the physical brain that can actually be measured.
If you learn a new language, or a musical instrument, for example, your brain actually gets smarter and more effective at solving challenges. Hence keep your brain in good physical shape by balancing out the repetitiveness with something fresh and stimulating.
No matter what you choose to do, there’s no avoiding the necessity to develop discipline and go on repeating the critical tasks every day, if you wish to make a winner of your home-based business. I hope the 5 strategies above will make your hard work a bit easier so, before you know it, you are able to outsource this stuff and spend greater time on the projects which are the most rewarding for you.
