Gardening calls for certain skills. You need to analyze your soil type, which type of plants will develop well in your soil, how you plan to take care of these plants, aside from the many other considerations that you must be aware of when you are serious about it.

For those starting out this may sound like a lot of hard work. But if you have been marked as the one with a green thumb and you've already honed you skills on this, then you might as well try the organic way of gardening. Organic gardening is truly a unique and satisfying gardening experience. It will need you to double your effort as compared with the usual stuff that you do with the customary gardening methods.

The Idea

The critical rule on this sort of gardening is that you will only use organic products in all your endeavor with regards to the task. This includes everything you would normally use such as pesticides, fertilizers and growth treatments.

You will need to make most of the products you use in your organic garden, the quick fix purchases will be a thing of the past. You will use your own hand made fertilizers and natural pesticides to aid your growing. The experience is most rewarding when you are able to say that 99% of your veggies or herbs are directly connected to your own hard work!

Organic Fertilizers

Most people think, falsely, that all fertilizers are organic. They are not, many contain risky chemicals that make their way into the plants and sooner or later into our bodies. You will use most of the by-products from your garden for composting, recycling what was formerly thrown away into something that is valuable and effective! This is the true art of organic living!

Organic Pesticides

100% organic gardening means you have to stay away from everything that is chemical based including pesticides. But if you can't afford to pick the insects one by one by your bare hands, then you can go to your local grocery store and ask for an organic pesticide that is available commercially.

The old way really is to be observant with your garden and take off every pest that you see. You should only turn to the organic pesticides when it becomes too many and uncontainable that you can no longer handle. You might also be able to bring in naturally occurring pest predators to aid you once you become more skilled. This way, you'll have some help in picking those pests up. And that is also helping the other animals satisfy their hunger.

Organic gardening really entails a lot of hard work. You need to be prepared to commit time and effort to the process. The rewards far outweigh all the hard work so perservere and you will definitely enjoy organic gardening.
