Marriage is not always a bed of roses; it is more like a ferris wheel that is full of ups and downs. Having disagreements every now and then is normal but when it gets more frequent by the day, its time to sit down and talk. When nothing positive comes out of it and even petty things like what television program to watch sparks into a full blown quarrel, its time to get a relationship help.
You can arrange a meeting with someone whom you mutually respect to get a relationship help but truly, the best help you can get will come from yourselves. If you can recall the things that made you adore your spouse, you can find ways to keep your marriage. Keep in mind that at one point in your life, your spouse was the love of your life.
Find time to be together where there are no distractions, sit down and really listen and not just hear each other. Bring out your feelings and unburden your thoughts that are making you unhappy with your marriage. In return, also give your spouse the chance to share what’s really on his/her heart. If talking between yourselves doesn’t seem to work out, you might want to consider getting a relationship help and have a mediator facilitate your serious talk.
If a face to face conversation is not effective, consider writing a letter reminding your significant other that you love him/her. Putting emphasis on his/her best qualities will tremendously make it easier to go back to the kind of connection you had before.
Keep a day of your weekend open to schedule for a date. As your marriage drags on for years, you become somewhat complacent and forget to dress up for each other on a date. This will bring back memories that you had when you were still on the dating stage, sweet, thoughtful, tender embrace, full of smiles, kisses and laughter.
Do something that will make you feel good, reward yourself with a day in a beauty salon or spa, doing it together will be even better as this will give you time together. If you are miserable with the way you look, you might pass this negative feeling to your spouse. Take charge and enroll your self in an exercise program that would make you fit and trim.
Let your spouse feel that they are your priority. Once they feel special, there is no need to get a relationship help. The flames of love will rekindle once more.
